From orders to photos, in one tool.
A local application to create order forms, read customers’ selections and produce photo sheets. PDF and JPEG files organised for the day-to-day work of Candela Image.
Creating order forms
The starting point
For Candela Image, the project connected two stages of photographic work: preparing customer order forms, then producing the formats requested in returned orders. One interface needed to bring together portraits, their references and product selections.
The solution
I designed and implemented the application from start to finish. One workspace creates PDF forms with a portrait preview and reference; products, prices and labels are configurable. A second workspace prepares photo sheets, either manually or from imported order checkboxes matched to portraits. Quantities are limited to five copies per product. Unreadable forms, multiple checked quantities or missing portraits are flagged before continuing. Exports are organised by client and format, preserving originals.
Approach & tools
The interface uses HTML, CSS and JavaScript, served locally with Python. Order reading combines checkbox recognition with OCR available for older form models. AI supported development and refinements under my direction. Photos and orders are processed locally. The visuals show a fictional session with AI-generated faces.
The project in practice
The team imports portraits to prepare PDF order forms. When orders return, the forms and corresponding photos are imported to produce JPEG photo sheets in the selected formats. The application has been delivered and is used by Candela Image. It was developed in October 2026.
